[He laughs.]

He kissed me at the party. If you did not see, I would think you were deliberately ignoring.

[She laughed quietly.]

We did start this meeting talking of your warden, my dear.

[He's playing now, not even bothering to hide his good cheer.]

No, darling, we started by talking about your warden.

[She was smiling, even as she sipped her wine.]

But we were talking about the lovely you kissed at the New Year's party.

[It's low effort and not at all a serious attempt to get past her, but he does enjoy the game, even if it's silly.]

[She offered him a look, and stuck out her tongue. Not much- more of a blep- but he's being silly. She'll be silly too.]

[He laughs, drinking deeply, and sits back.]

He calls himself the Cat King, but that is no proper name for him in his human form.

And I suppose re gatto wouldn't suit him as a name, per see.

[She took a sip of wine.]

I think I saw him on the network once- something about protecting the cats on the Barge?

[Well...if Iago was cool with being lovers with a magical cat, who was she to quibble about it?]

[He nods.]

Yes, but I always doubted what that meant. People here take extraordinary care of all their pets.

I think he's used to humans being less than kind to animals around them.

But people here love their pets. It's normalcy, as well as a kind of therapy.

Therapy?

[Now there's a word he desperately needs to know but has no way of understanding. He's still going to ask.]

Aaah yes. That's a little...more recent.

And a bit complicated. It is...a way to look after the mind and the self. Or to see if everything is all right.

You'll likely hear the term tossed around until it doesn't sound like a word anymore.

[He sighs, tapping his glass.]

Self reflection is not something many look forward to.

Oh no, it's painful, it's awful, and it sucks.

[She waves a hand.]

And while I do it semi frequently, I still hate it.

[He chuckles.]

That is surprising. What do you learn about yourself?

Oh, awful, terrible things.

But mostly confirming that I am, in fact, a great kisser.

[She winks.]

That does not sound like something you can assess for yourself.

[He meets that wink with a laugh.]

Oh no, I self reflect that sometimes...I need to do a lot of kissing.

He sits back and crosses his legs. "Is that an invitation?"

Sokie leaned in and offered a smirk. "For you darling. Always."

He sets his glass aside. "Then allow me to test your thoughts on your own abilities," he says, pushing away from the table slightly and offering out a hand to her.

"You indulge me Iago, so much." She moved to push the table a little further away, before taking his hand.

"Please. Let me show you my skills."

[knowmyplace]

He tightens his grip on her and pulls her forward, aiming to get her in his lap instead. "I would enjoy that."

Sokie made a surprised sound, overbalancing, and spilled onto his lap, more or less.

"Me-me too." She laughed, leaning against him. "Here. Let me get on you properly."
