[In true unfriendly fashion, Shaw doesn't respond after that - but she does head to the Lounge, where she orders up a whiskey to nurse. Iago will find her sitting at the bar, swiveled on her stool to half-face the door.]

[He walks in, his hands at his sides.]

You didn't even open the door for me?

[Hhe smirks, getting a drink for himself from behind the bar and joining her.]

Figured you'd knock.

[Shaw says, slouching back in her chair as she takes a long pull of whiskey.]

And anyway, there's always a warden walking by, itching for the chance to be helpful.

[He grins, taking a small drink of what's in his glass. He's not here to get drunk, after all.]

Which is why I would have opened the door if you'd knocked.

[She says, completely unrepentant, before pausing and adding--]

I'm Shaw.

[Absolutely ridiculous that it's taken you this long to introduce yourself, Shaw, but okay.]

[Sometimes he likes to play the games. Sometimes he likes being direct and not pretending.]

I have seen you on the - [He gestures to the communicator in his pocket, which he places on the table.]

[She wrinkles her nose.]

Hopefully not any of my posts; I only make those when I'm trying to be diplomatic or talking about paintball.

[He smirks over his glass.]

You aren't like the other wardens.

Hey, a couple of them are terrible at diplomacy, too.

[She quips, tilting her drink at him in lieu of a point.]

I used to think the Admiral overlooked something when he picked me up, but, uh-- it's pretty clear by now that he likes the weird cases.

What do you bring to the wardens that you believe they lack?

Stuff that doesn't matter here.

[She says, blowing out a breath.]

But I've gotten used to it. Mostly.

The crappy security's always going to be a sticking point. But Mr. "Every Inmate Gets a Free Knife" got demoted, so that's something.

Trevor is a friend of mine. And the blade he gave me saved my head from the attack of a hammer, though it could not help my shattered bone.

And then no one did a goddamn thing about her until I was paired with Saga.

[He waves a hand.]

There are many flaws to this place, but that is at the bottom of the list.

Hear me out on this one. Who gave her the hammer, and who could have taken it away but didn't?

Who says anyone gave it to her? She could have taken it.

Who knew she had it?

Sure, that too. Point is, her not having the hammer in the first place would have helped your shattered bone.

[He shrugs.]

I certainly don't mind it.

Heard of him, never talked to him, seems like the kind of guy I don't have patience for.

[Such is Sameen Shaw's tendency towards knee-jerk judgments.]

Is he actually getting any wardening done while you guys are playing games, or is this just a recreational thing?
